Cultivamos Larimer County

After conversations and focus groups with community leaders, ISAAC walked away with the clear feedback that community leaders with enormous lived and embodied wisdom continue to feel like nonprofits gate-keep leadership positions and regularly ask for program ideas from the community, but never ask those community members to lead or develop them!

Out of these conversations, and based on similar work piloted in Fort Morgan, the Cultivamos program was born.

Cultivamos provides support and training for a cohort of grassroots community-based leaders who have been incubating a project idea based on their own lived experience over a number of years. The program assists leaders in the development of their project mission and vision, and trains them in issues like creating a strategic plan, conducting focus groups, finding funding, mapping community resources, assessing the gaps and opportunities, thinking about systemic change, and deciding on project format and/or applying for an LLC or EIN.

In Fall of 2022, ISAAC graduated a first cohort of brilliant leaders, and is now working with them to co-create and co-design the Part Two of this leadership series. ISAAC plans to launch a new cohort in Fall 2024.

Cultivamos Graduates are now at all different stages of their project development, and ISAAC is working to connect them to resources, incubators, organizations and fiscal sponsors that will support them in their next steps. Reach out to us if you would like to know what they are working on and how you can support them!
